Community Investment
UWAC grant funding addresses 4 priority areas:
- Basic Needs & Independence
- Safer Homes & Neighborhoods
- Community Health
- Mental Wellness Reducing Substance Abuse
These priorities are established based on UWAC's Community Needs Assessment that surveys local residents, key community leaders and health and human service professionals.
United Way of Atlantic County currently partners with 40 local health and human service agencies that may apply for funding. Community volunteers make grant funding decisions; selecting programs and services that collectively respond to community needs and deliver effective and efficient results.
All of UWAC funded programs are framed by desired community outcomes. Together they make make up the building blocks for a good life - education, income and health.
