4TH ANNUAL FAMILY FUN DAY AT WONDERLAND PIER BENEFITS SUCCESS BY 6 - MONDAY, AUGUST 25 Fifty percent of all the wristband proceeds go directly to United Way. The afternoon will provide unlimited access to all rides including Bumper Boats, Canyon Falls Log Fume, Bear Bounce, Balloon Race, Carousel, Swings and more. The money raised will benefit the programs of Success By 6, the early childhood initiative of United Way of Atlantic County. “These dollars will go on to benefit the children in our communities,” said Cynthia Green, Executive Director of Child Federation and Chair of Success By 6. “The future will look a little brighter for the children and families receiving education and services from Success By 6, because of the efforts of those who thoughtfully support this event.” Success By 6, an initiative of the United Way of Atlantic County, is leading an effort to create a web of services within our community to make a positive impact on the lives of children ages 0-6 and have them ready to succeed when they enter school. The goal of Success By 6 is to ensure that infants and preschool children become prepared for school and life-emotionally, socially, medically, and educationally. Success By 6 partners with individuals from all sectors of the community to create a web of services to address the needs of children. Success By 6 has had a positive impact on the lives of children in local communities since 1995. Success By 6 is a collaborative, dedicated to providing opportunities for young children in Atlantic County to grow and develop to their fullest potential. In the past 10 years it has worked to double the immunization rate for children and provide pediatric dental care for uninsured children. Success By 6 is committed to developing early literacy skills through community reading groups, First Book and the Raising a Reader program. Success By 6 has also had an impact on parenting skills through the Parents As Teachers program and the Born Learning engagement campaign. Overall the program has raised the consciousness of the community concerning early childhood development issues. School Days will soon be starting and the summer fun is almost over. Spend some quality time with your children while benefiting Success by 6, and head on over to Wonderland Pier in Ocean City! “This is a great way for families to enjoy a fun afternoon at a great value, while helping the community’s youngest citizens,” John Emge, Executive Director said. “We are fortunate to have community partners like Gillian’s Wonderland Pier who make these types of events possible.” For more information on early childhood development and Success By 6 programs contact Success By 6 at 609-404-(GIVE) 4483, Ext. 19 or log onto www.unitedwayac.org United Way of Atlantic County is a local, volunteer-driven, charitable organization mobilizing people and resources to meet our community’s most pressing health and human services needs.
