UNITED WAY CELEBRATES VOLUNTEERS AND WORKPLACE CAMPAIGN EFFORTS WITH

Galloway, United Way of Atlantic County will hold their 72nd Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony Tuesday, April 7th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Salon A/B. The Annual meeting recognizes distinguished volunteers and workplace campaign efforts.

Highlights from this evening program will include:

- Announcement of the current total for United Way’s 2008 fundraising campaign.
- Presentation to Partner Agencies Best Effort Contest Winners
- United Way of Atlantic County Board President, Barbara Lang, Lang & Associates, CPA’s LLC, and United Way of Atlantic
County Campaign Chair, David Goddard, Ole Hansen & Sons, Inc., will give a recap of 2008 campaign .
- Award the George F. Lynn Volunteer of the Year Award, given annually to the United Way volunteer who shows an
extraordinary commitment to the organization and general well-being of the community. This year’s recipient is Jim
Ziereis – Harrah’s Entertainment
- Award the Henry J. Remeis Award, given annually to a United Way-partner agency executive director who provides
demonstrated evidence of good agency management, leadership with peers and support of United Way. This year’s
recipient Jack Fox – Jewish Community Center of Atlantic County
- Introduce Joe Domenico, Bally’s Atlantic City, as 2009 Campaign General Chair
- Present nearly 250 awards to area businesses, employers and labor unions for their outstanding support of United Way
through workplace campaigns, including the prestigious Community Champion’s Cup and the Local 54/United Way
Community Partnership Award.

United Way of Atlantic County is a local, volunteer-driven, charitable organization mobilizing people and resources to meet our community’s most pressing health and human services needs.
